Rachael Hanel is a writer and associate professor of Mass Media living near Mankato, Minnesota. She has written more than 20 nonfiction books for the children's educational market.
Her first book for adults is We'll Be the Last Ones to Let You Down: Memoir of a Gravedigger's Daughter (University of Minnesota Press, 2013), which was a finalist for a Minnesota Book Award in memoir/creative nonfiction. Her writing has appeared in numerous literary journals and anthologies, including Slag Glass City, Bellingham Review, New Delta Review, and Midwestern Gothic.
