ClassAfternoon Dialogue Intensive: Authentic Dialogue Across Genre
Some agents scan a manuscript for dialogue then read more or reject based on what they see. Dialogue can be the make-or-break element of story—because good dialogue is really hard to write. So if you struggle with it, join the club. In this afternoon session, we'll focus on purpose and placement of dialogue in fiction and memoir scenes, learning the mechanics, rhythm, and subtext of amazing dialogue, while tuning our writing skills and listening ears. Class will take place in real time online, via Zoom, with ample time for “in-class” writing exercises.
