Confidence Builder for Writers
Sometimes writing can seem daunting, and even seasoned and successful writers experience periods of doubt. Accepting these doubts can actually help alleviate them. This class examines various theories about the creative cycle and presents exercises and tips for writers in all genres. The goal: to increase your confidence in order to write boldly and look forward to sharing with readers.
Through supportive discussions we'll take comfort in knowing we aren't alone, reflect on what factors may influence our doubts, and practice counseling-inspired ways to work up confidence. During the class you'll write creatively in response to prompts, complete a goal-setting worksheet, receive a list of community resources, and make a personalized "cheat sheet" card for next time you need a boost!
This class is suitable for writers at all levels, and also great for anyone returning to writing. You will leave with a better understanding of who you are as a writer, how your artistic thinking process fits into your life, and how to challenge your creative comfort zone.
