Creating Empathy: Getting An Audience To Love Your Protagonist
Writing is all about getting inside a reader's head and heart. This class is all about how to engage a reader's empathy for your character and get them to invest in their journey. This course will discuss multiple examples of protagonists that are talented, caring, tackling personal problems, those in grief and treated unjustly. We will also cover developing and focusing on specific demographic for your project.
Students will also have the opportunity to have their work read in class and will receive notes from students and the teaching artist afterwards.
