Emotional Settings: A Class for Writers of Color and Indigenous Writers
How do you make places weep? This class will focus on the writing of spaces, embedding them with emotion, and engage in the work of setting mood on the page. Think of the settings for your stories. Come prepared to write about them in detail and to garner feelings from them, to hear them cry, to see them smile, to live in the interactions of light, the dust flittering to life, the shades being drawn.
This class is part of a series of classes that cover the issues and traditions of writers of color and indigenous writers, and is intended for writers of color and indigenous writers. Participants are welcome to register for one, several, or all of the sessions.
The class is offered on a pay what you can basis with the suggested fee of $15 ($13.50 for Loft members). Students may select the "pay what you can" option and enter any amount, including $0. No student will be turned away for not paying. You can register online or in person at the class, where there will be an opportunity to pay whatever amount is appropriate for you.
