ClassFirst Steps into Writing
This is a class for those who are ready for the adventure of claiming or reclaiming who you are as a writer. Find out what you have to say! Explore the world around you and within you in new ways through language. Writing exercises will encourage you to open doors and cross thresholds to find words and stories that have been waiting to be discovered—by you. Writing prompts in and out of class will invite you to express your unique voice in new and possibly revelatory ways through journaling, poetry, memoir, and/or short fiction.
Expect to generate lots of material and have time to read your work in class and get immediate feedback (optional). Please obtain a copy of Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott and come with a journal and pen or laptop and ready for the adventure of discovering what you have to say!
