Poetry Graphic

We'll read and discuss many poems written by diverse and extraordinary poets, both living and dead, Students write and turn in as many poems as they wish; all work is read and edited by me and members of class. After our first session together, in which many poems and writing options are presented, all other classes will focus on sharing and workshopping, as well as reading and discussing handouts.

We work with appropriate speed; we cover a lot of ground each class. The poets we'll study cross the boundaries and borders of race, gender, nationality, class, age, and aesthetics. Poetry, the great art form, is honored in each class with passion and civility and intelligence.

No class March 18.
