Novel Writing Boot Camp
You have a great idea for a novel, but never seem to get very far when you sit down to write. In this week-long intensive for absolute beginners and those in need of a refresher and/or a kick in the pants, we'll review the basics of novel writing, with an emphasis on plot, structure, point of view, narrative time (scene, summary, flashback), and character development.
Our focus will be on generating new material for your novel though craft presentations and writing exercises. We'll also share a few shorter writing excerpts we create during our week together. Ninety minutes of every day will be spent writing without excuse. No lecture, no discussion, no reading, just generating raw material for your novel. Find out if you have what it takes to write a novel-length work.
The Boot Camp includes some material covered in the Fiction Basics series. Bring a bag lunch; we'll break as needed.
