Join award-winning travel writer Lisa Meyers McClintick for this three-hour celebration of wanderlust and curiosity. We’ll look at what elements come together for the most memorable and entertaining travel features from some of the country’s best professional travel writers. We’ll cover how to keep a story to 1,500 words or less (the limit for most newspaper or magazine features) while using well-chosen details, dialogue, and action to give readers that you-are-here experience.

Class participants will have the chance to write in class, share their words, and leave with the skills to write succinctly for travel essays or websites or to create a stronger sense of place and destination within longer works of creative nonfiction and fiction. Bring a photo, souvenir or notes from a trip for in-class writing exercises.

All Classes listed on the Loft website take place in Central Time (CT); please adjust to your own time zone accordingly.
