Are you planning to take the ACT essay? Do you want help scoring higher? Then, this class was created for you. We’ll take an in-depth look at the redesigned ACT essay. We'll start by breaking down what the prompt is asking you to do and what test scorers will be looking for. Next, we'll examine the three perspectives, focusing on strengths and weaknesses. Through group brainstorming and individual outlining, you’ll develop a thesis and a solid structure. Then you’ll write your essay within the time limit. Afterward, we'll read example essays so you can see how yours compares and find ways to avoid pitfalls and take advantage of good strategies. We’ll continue this process throughout the week so you leave feeling confident and ready to tackle the ACT essay!

Afterward, we'll read example essays for comparison and discuss each one's strengths and weaknesses, as well as ways to improve your essay. This process will be repeated with variations and interactive activities until you are ready to take the ACT or SAT and earn your best score!
