Writing Home with Ibi Zoboi
How do we make setting, home, cities, and countries feel like a main character in our stories? We explore what it means to write home—grounding our stories in the smells, sounds, and colors of our communities in order to bring them to life and make them breathing and speaking characters.
Class is limited to 12 students.
Pre-work: Write a poem using a five senses to describe your home—home can be an actual house, a block or road, a town or city, or a country.
In order to receive feedback on your work in class, students must submit this poem no later than October 11, 2019 to email@example.com with the subject line "work submission for Ibi Zoboi workshop."
