Young Writers Program: 2025 Summer Youth Camps and Intensives - Information Session 1

If you're curious about the Loft's Summer Youth Camps and Writing Intensives and learning which is right for you, come to this informal information session to find out more! Perfect for families new to the Loft or returning friends, we'll discuss each of the programs, the year ahead, how you or your student may fit in. Some of the summer youth teaching mentors will share an overview about what to expect during their camp. This event is free and open to the public, and it takes place online, via Zoom. Come, write about art in an immersive experience of exhibitions, lectures, and collections at the Minneapolis Art Institute. In this adventurous class, writer and Loft Executive & Artistic Director, Arleta Little, will invite participants to explore ekphrastic writing through discussion, exercises, and workshops while learning about visual art and artists from the 20th and 21st centuries. In this learning partnership between the Loft Literary Center and the Minneapolis Institute of Art, Art in Words classes include general admission to the Mia exhibits, lectures, galleries, and collections that will be the focus of each class. Open to writers in all genres and levels, from the occasional journaler to published authors.
