First Pages Prize

Calling un-agented writers! The First Pages Prize wants to read your first 5 pages of a fiction or creative non-fiction ms. Open worldwide, your pages must be unpublished. Judging criteria are writing craft, a sense of a bigger story emerging and how hooked reviewers are by your writing. This year’s judge is Iowa Writers’ Workshop director, Lan Samantha Chang. Entry is via Submittable.

• Prizes – 1st prize: $2,000 / 2nd prize $1,250 / 3rd prize $750 / 4th and 5th $500 + developmental edit + agent consult
• Enter – 1 January - 7 February (21 Feb extended) 
• Entry fee – $20 / ($35 extended) / limited sponsored entries
