Under a Private Sky - a story in verse
My debut collection of poetry, Under a Private Sky, is published by Aldrich Press. When deciding on a first book to write, I chose a hidden story, one that is more difficult to tell. These are the stories some wish to remain untold. These are the stories that are the silent stories that we must hold our ears open for. These are the stories that are like listening to soulful, moving music played by an eight year old’s heart, out of the joy and sorrow the world brings to him.
Under a Private Sky is a story, woven in verse. It harkens back to where I grew up beneath a canopy of trees atop a hill on a private trail. It’s about a girl that has childhood experiences and embeds the trauma within her, in her organs and bones, for it to only come out and manifest itself. If suffering is simply a part of life, how do we walk so no one suffers alone?
