April Gibson

April Gibson is a poet, essayist, and educator. She is the author of the chapbook, Automation, published by Willow Books (2015) and her work has appeared or is forthcoming in The Kenyon Review, Prairie Schooner, Water-Stone Review, PANK, Pluck!, Literary Mama, and elsewhere. April is a Loft Mentor Series winner (2014-15), a fellow of the Poetry Incubator, the Callaloo Creative Writing Workshop, and The Watering Hole Poetry Retreat, as well as a Vermont Studio Center and VONA Writing Workshop alum. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Chicago State University. Her current project is a full-length poetry collection exploring performance, politics, and Black womanhood.
