The Loft Literary Center invites poets, fiction, and nonfiction writers to apply to the 2019–2020 Mentor Series in Poetry and Creative Prose. This program offers advanced criticism and professional development opportunities to 12 writers: four each in the genres of poetry, fiction, and nonfiction.
This year's mentors are Jennine Capó Crucet and Junauda Petrus in fiction; Melissa Febos and Douglas Kearney in nonfiction; and Gretchen Marquette and Ross Gay in poetry.

The Loft Mentor Series in Poetry and Creative Prose offers twelve emerging Minnesota writers the opportunity to work intensively with six nationally acclaimed writers of prose and poetry.
Congratulations to the 2018–19 Mentor Series Fellows: in creative nonfiction Hilal Isler, Debra J. Stone, Jeannie Goodspeed, and Mimi Iimuro Van Ausdall; in poetry Ariane Sandford, Jaya Stenquist, Brianna Flavin, and Maitreyi Ray; and in fiction Jessie Lee-Bauder, Haeyoon Fry, Molly Olguín, and Anessa Ibrahim.
The mentors for the upcoming season will be poets Danez Smith and Natalie Diaz, nonfiction writers Angela Pelster and Moustafa Bayoumi, and fiction writers V.V. Ganeshananthan and Carmen Maria Machado.
