Cara Olexa

Cara Olexa writes and teaches at the intersection of fiction, poetry, and memoir. She has been published in Ploughshares and has written and edited in the fields of healthcare, cultural nonprofits, and union organizing. She taught creative writing and composition at New Mexico State University, where she earned her MFA in fiction, and has facilitated community-centered writing workshops for Oregon’s Northwest Narrative Medicine Collaborative and Write Around Portland. These days she lives in East Tennessee, but she will always be from Ohio.
