Claire Sheridan
Among other things (including landscaper and construction worker), Claire Sheridan has been a hospital-based first responder for violent crime victims; a Guardian ad Litem; teacher and researcher in prisons; a Victim Offender Dialogue facilitator; and a communications coordinator for a nonprofit legal aid. The unexpected commonality across all these roles? Being immersed in, and often documenting, other people’s stories. Claire has also been the lead writer and associate editor of a community magazine. Through this, she began reclaiming her writer-self. It wasn’t until she started writing creatively that the fun really started! Since becoming a certified facilitator, Claire leads and participates in multiple Amherst Writers & Artists writing groups weekly—in addition to continually cultivating her own writing practice. She loves that technology enables writing with people all over the world. In Claire’s groups you’ll find support and encouragement to grow your own writer’s voice.
