Elise Toedt

Elise Toedt received her doctorate in Literacy, Language and Culture at the University of Minnesota. In her creative writing and in her research, she is interested in what and who silence protects in communal and institutional spaces. Elise publishes research-based and theoretical scholarship on race, gender, and class, and also writes creative nonfiction and poetry. Elise is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Writing Studies at the University of Minnesota and lives in St. Paul with her toddler. They spend lots of time hiking, cooking, biking, and gardening.
