Emily Weitzman

Emily Weitzman is a writer and educator from New York. She has taught creative writing around the world to writers of all ages. Emily currently teaches writing to undergraduates at NYU and Columbia University, where she received an MFA in nonfiction writing. As a Thomas J. Watson Fellow, she spent one year teaching, performing, and collaborating with poetry communities in eight countries. She worked with young writers through organizations including the Word Warriors in Kathmandu and the Children’s Art Museum of Nepal, where she was an artist-in-residence. Emily's writing has been published in Longreads, Vol 1. Brooklyn, and the HAD, among other places, and her spoken word poetry has been featured on HuffPost, Bustle, and Button Poetry. She has received writing fellowships and residencies from the Vermont Studio Center, the Adirondack Center for Writing, Columbia University, Wesleyan University, and more.
