Hillary Rettig

Hillary Rettig is an author, workshop leader, and coach who specializes in helping people overcome procrastination and use their time better. Her latest book is The 7 Secrets of the Prolific: The Definitive Guide to Overcoming Procrastination, Perfectionism and Writer's Block (Infinite Art, 2011), which is currently being translated into Spanish and Japanese. Her prior book was The Lifelong Activist: How to Change the World Without Losing Your Way (Lantern Books, 2006). 

Hillary has also published hundreds of nonfiction articles in leading magazines including WiredWorking Woman, and Inc. Technology. She has also published short fiction in Isaac Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine and elsewhere. She is a graduate of the prestigious Clarion science fiction summer school, where she studied with Ursula K. LeGuin, Samuel R. Delaney, and the late Octavia Butler, among others. 

Hillary has taught for eight years at Grub Street Writers in Boston, MA and for three at SavvyAuthors.com. She has also taught at the Mark Twain House & Museum, Cape Cod Writers Center, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and many other venues.

Hillary is a Bronx native who, after sojourns in Manhattan and Boston, recently moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan, where she is enjoying the Michigan arts scene. She is a living kidney donor, former foster parent of four teenaged Sudanese refugees (aka, “Lost Boys,” now all adult and living independently), lover of dogs and other animals, and vegan.
