Jessica Colley Clarke

Freelance writer Jessica Colley Clarke has taught creative nonfiction and journalism at Columbia University in New York City, where she’s lived for the last decade. Her travel and food writing have appeared in publications including AFAR Magazine, the New York Times, BBC Travel, the Daily Beast, SAVEUR, Conde Nast Traveler, and more. She has an MFA from Columbia University School of the Arts and is currently at work on her first book, a memoir. In the classroom, she is focused on helping students to develop as both readers and writers, with a special attention to rhythm, economy of language, candor, and sensory detail.
