Kathryn Savage

Program Manager, Loft Mentor Series Fellowship

 

Kathryn Savage is a hybrid writer with work appearing or forthcoming in American Short Fiction, The Academy of American Poets, Poets.org, the Guardian, Poets & Writers, Ploughshares, the Village Voice, Star Tribune, and The Best Small Fictions of 2015. Her work has been supported by the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, Napa Valley Writers’ Conference, Minnesota State Arts Board, Millay Colony, Ucross Foundation, Coffee House Press: In the Stacks, Weisman Art Museum, and the Gullkistan Center for Creativity in Laugarvatn, Iceland. 

She's worked at the Loft for the past six years and is the program manager for the Loft Mentor Series Fellowship. When not at the Loft, she teaches writing at The Minneapolis College of Art and Design and at The University of Minnesota. After studying creative writing at The New School in New York City, she received her MFA in fiction from Bennington College, and is currently pursuing a second MFA in poetry from the U of M. She lives in Minneapolis with her son.
