Kristine Spanier
Kristine Spanier (she/her) is a writer, editor, and research librarian with more than 30 years of experience in working with words, books, and resources. She began her career as an advertising copywriter, penning the tagline for Caribou Coffee, "Life is Short. Stay Awake for It.," before pivoting to work in library research. During that time, she was an adjunct instructor in the library and information science program at St. Catherine University. She is currently authoring children’s nonfiction books and working as an independent fiction and nonfiction book editor. Kristine won the 2019 Hugh Holton Award for excellence in unpublished fiction from the Midwest Chapter of Mystery Writers of America and is a member of MWA, Authors Guild, and the Professional Editors Network. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Minnesota and a master’s degree in library and information science from Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois.
