Lara Mimosa Montes

Lara Mimosa Montes is the author of The Time of the Novel, which Publisher’s Weekly describes as a “luminous” and “brilliant debut.” She is also the author of two previous books of poetry. Her writing has appeared in Amant, Fence, POETRY, The Institute for Studies on Latin American Art, and elsewhere. She is the recipient of artist residencies and fellowships from Lighthouse Works, MacDowell, Marble House Project, Jentel, Headlands Center for the Arts, and the McKnight Foundation. She holds a PhD in English from The Graduate Center, City University of New York. She regularly collaborates with other artists to develop public programs and image-text projects. She is a faculty member of the Creative Writing MFA program at Pacific Northwest College of Art. She also teaches in XE: Experimental Humanities and Social Engagement Master’s program at NYU.
