Lilly Keefe-Powers

By day, Lilly Keefe-Powers is an elementary school science teacher, but by night, she's a freewheeling book cowboy who loves to read about dragons and spaceships. In the past, she's helped teams of teens cut down trees with chainsaws, educated the public about mammoth facts, trained birds how to use computers, caught softshell turtles on the Mississippi, and scanned bird faces for science. Long ago, she was crowned a California Arts Scholar, and she still has the medal.
