Miranda Schmidt

Miranda Schmidt's work has appeared in TriQuarterly, Orion, Electric Literature, the Collagist, Phoebe, and other journals. She also writes "Tree Talk," a Catapult column that combines science, mythology, and personal narrative in lyric essay form. Miranda has taught creative writing at the Loft, University of Washington, and Portland Community College and edited for Phantom DriftSun Star Review, the Seattle Review, and other publications. A 2017 Lambda Literary Emerging LGBTQ Writers Fellow, Miranda is a graduate of the University of Washington's MFA program and has been a finalist for the Nilsen First Novel Award and New Rivers Press Many Voices Project.
