Miranda Schmidt

Miranda Schmidt's work has appeared in TriQuarterly, Orion, Electric Literature, the Collagist, Phoebe, and other journals. She wrote "Tree Talk," a Catapult column that combines science, mythology, and personal narrative in lyric essay form. Miranda has taught creative writing at the Loft, University of Washington, Linfield College, the Portland Book Festival, and Portland Community College. She is currently a PhD candidate at Bath Spa University in the UK, has received support from the Bread Loaf Environmental Writers Workshop, Lambda Literary's Emerging LGBTQ Fellowship,  and the University of Washington (where she completed her MFA).
