Suzanne Wise
Suzanne Wise is a poet and essayist whose writing has increasingly incorporated comics and drawing. She is the author of four collections of poetry and prose, including The Book of Space (Tammy) and The Kingdom of the Subjunctive (Alice James), Her comics appear in the literary journals Action, Spectacle, and Pencil Magazine, among other places. She’s taught at the University of Michigan, Pratt Institute, Middlebury College, and Poets House. Her teaching style is defined by encouragement, enthusiasm, and curiosity. She fosters risk-taking and playful experimentation, and she is a big fan of happy accidents and imperfection. Her classes are a good fit for writers interested in experimentation and hybridity.
