Creative Process with Brain

Have you wanted to start a daily creative writing practice? Are you a seasoned writer ready to refresh your daily creative toolbox? Are you a bit in between? If so, this class is for you!

We will "flesh out" what a daily practice means and how that is different than going through the stages of a writing project. We will look to writers and artists such as Elizabeth Gilbert, Chimamanda Adiche, Marlon James, Anne Lamott, Ruth Stone, Tom Waits, and Julia Cameron in seeing how unique a daily creative practice is and to give ourselves permission to make new strides.

From beginning to seasoned writers alike, we will work through writing prompts and activities that will give us new energy in either establishing or evolving our creative lives.

One of our activities will be spending time with what Julia Cameron calls our "meditative pages," as a threshold to feel into what writing without a project in mind feels like, and to see how doing so nurtures us. Lasty, we will create a "Manifesto" to name our creative practice and think of it as a friend. Multiple resources for further consideration will be provided at the end of our time together.
