ClassEchoes of Service: A Class for Veteran Servicemember Writers
Echoes of Service is a community-based creative writing workshop that brings veterans and non-veterans together to share, reflect, and connect through storytelling. Centered on themes of military life, identity, culture, and the lasting impact of service, this workshop invites participants to explore their experiences in a supportive and respectful space.
Through guided writing prompts and group conversation, writers will engage with stories of camaraderie, transition, love, loss, and resilience—recognizing both the differences and common threads within their journeys. All forms of expression are welcome, from poetry to prose, whether you’re writing for the first time or returning to the page. Echoes of Service values listening as much as writing, fostering community through shared voices and mutual understanding. Together, participants will create space not only to tell their own stories, but to honor one another’s experiences and build connection through the power of words.
The class is offered on a pay what you can basis with the suggested fee. Students may select the "pay what you can" option and enter any amount, including $0.
Writers of all experiences, genres and abilities are welcomed.
All Classes listed on the Loft website take place in Central Time.
