ClassNarrative Healing Workshop—Writing to Remember
This October session explores writing as an aid to memory. Through writing exercises and discussion, we will practice several ways to make memories more lasting.
Begin the work here—or come with some memories already written down. Writing is an aid to memory. What part of your story do you want to preserve?
Making our thoughts available—and visual—can enhance the brain's cognitive function, including both critical thinking and the ability to regulate emotions. Explore Writing as a Healing Art, with the Loft and Hope Arts Center.
This Narrative Healing partnership with Hope Arts Center helps us experience writing as a way to heal in any one of these 90-minutes sessions—or sign up for all three. Each session offers participants a unique opportunity to explore writing as a healing art.
A Loft teaching artist will lead activities for healing in three distinct sessions: Explore how writing can help us move through memories of pain and conflict, how music can be a prompt for language, and how our efforts to heal can affect our larger communities.
