Screenwriting for Teens for Ages 15 to 18

Welcome back to Summer Youth at Open Book! Join us for a week of writing and all day creativity!

Are you a teenager and want to write your own movie, but don't know how? Then this class is for you! Aimed at beginners, this class starts off with the fundamentals of screenwriting. How screenplays are written, their formatting and what they look like. From here students will share what ideas they have and begin writing their own scripts. Throughout the course we will cover how screenwriting structure and character works, while using film examples to reinforce those lessons. Students will also be encouraged to bring in their own writing to receive feedback from their peers and teaching artist.
