30k words for Month-long Consultations

What You’ll Submit:

The draft you want to work on for a short project (less than 10k), or the first 10k words for longer projects. A paragraph overview of where you’re at with the work and what you’re hoping to get help on.

What You’ll Get:

An initial half hour consultation to talk about goals and collaboratively review materials. Sometimes this gives writers enough information that they can go on their way and do the work on their own. Otherwise, we can agree on some goals and proceed with an editorial process from there whether that's proofreading, revision guidance, etc.

We will determine the next steps. After the consultation, the writer will have the option to have me provide in-depth line-level responses to the submitted manuscript. Or the writer may revise based on our consultation and then resubmit the draft they want in-depth feedback on. Both of these options assume that the work is less than 10k and that one round of discussion and then written feedback will be enough. 

If a project is long, or more feedback is desired, we can establish a one-on-one consultation schedule for a month-long basis which can include both written and verbal feedback.

Pricing: 

Consultation and Critique 

30 minute consultation* and one round of written feedback is $300 + 0.02 per word.

Second Pass Critique

A second pass for revisions is $50 + 0.02 per word.

Month-long Consultations

Monthlong one-on-one consulting for long projects is $500. This assumes responding to approximately 30k words. If you are working on a dissertation, thesis, or novel and would like to work on more than 30k, we can discuss scheduling. Please email [email protected].

*If after our first consultation, you feel that you are able to go your own way, you will only be charged $50.

Turnaround: 1-3 weeks depending on the project and timeline established in the consultation
