Christine Day Author Talk: A Reading & Conversation with the 2025 McKnight Judge in Children's Literature
Join us for a special reading with acclaimed middle grade and YA author Christine Day, the 2025 McKnight Judge in Children’s Literature (ages 8 and up). Day will share from her award-winning work and will be joined in conversation by the Loft’s Partnerships Program Manager, Cristeta Boarini.
Christine Day (Upper Skagit) grew up in Seattle, nestled between the sea, the mountains, and the pages of her favorite books. Her debut novel, I Can Make This Promise, was named a best book of the year by NPR and received both a Charlotte Huck Award Honor and an American Indian Youth Literature Award Honor. Her second novel, The Sea in Winter, was a Top 10 Indie Kids’ Next selection, a finalist for the Pacific Northwest Book Award, and also an American Indian Youth Literature Award Honor Book.
