Valeria Luiselli Author Talk: A Reading & Conversation with the 2025 McKnight Judge in Creative Prose
Please join us for a public reading by the 2025 McKnight Judge in Creative Prose, acclaimed novelist, essayist, and 2019 MacArthur “Genius” Fellow Valeria Luiselli. Known for her inventive style and fearless storytelling, Luiselli has been hailed around the world for work that pushes the boundaries of fiction and nonfiction alike.
She will read from and discuss her groundbreaking novel Lost Children Archive—a haunting and timely meditation on family, migration, memory, and the stories we carry with us. With lyrical precision and emotional force, Luiselli entwines a family road trip with the harrowing journeys of migrant children traveling toward the U.S. border, offering a powerful reflection on what it means to be human in an inhuman world.
Luiselli will be joined in conversation by Arleta Little, Executive and Artistic Director of the Loft Literary Center. Together, they will explore how literature can help us grapple with the crises of our moment and imagine new ways of seeing.
