Indolent Books is now seeking Book Editors!

Indolent Books is a non-profit poetry press based in Brooklyn, New York, and committed to publishing innovative, provocative, and risky work. We focus on queer, trans, nonbinary, and intersex writers, as well as women, people of color, poets over 50 without a first book, and other marginalized or underrepresented voices. Our poets include Logan February, Dante Micheaux, Samar Abdel Jaber, and Nicole Callihan.

Book Editors will shepherd manuscripts through all stages of production: preparing and copy-editing typescripts, querying authors on edits and revisions, and coordinating with our production editor, designer, and authors to produce the page layout and covers for our books.

Book Editors are paid 500 USD per book.

Interested? Email a cover letter and CV/résumé to [email protected].

*We are eager to recruit and retain a diverse, inclusive editorial staff, especially editors who are intersex, queer, trans, or nonbinary, as well as women, people of color, and people who stand at the intersections of these and other marginalized identities.*
