Minnesota Author Project: Adult and Young Adult Fiction
Welcome to the Minnesota Author Project Contest!
Through this contest, libraries are helping indie authors get the recognition they deserve for writing great books.
For authors, this contest is a powerful way to elevate your careers and writing goals, powered by the library community. Along with the accolade of the award and its perks, being recognized by librarians creates credibility and visibility for indie authors, setting them apart in a growing marketplace of digital content and indie-published books.
Open for submissions April 1-May 31, 2025
The winners of this contest will receive:
• $2,000 each in adult and young adult categories. Prizes sponsored by the Minnesota Library Foundation and BiblioBoard.
• Honors at 2025 Minnesota Library Conference.
• Opportunities to promote your book(s) in Minnesota public libraries.
• Inclusion in a full-page print spread in Library Journal.
• If available, print copies of your book will be purchased and made available for checkout through Minnesota’s public libraries.
• Inclusion and promotion in Indie Minnesota, a digital collection of local authors available on BiblioBoard Library. (Winners and Finalists)
• Multiple submissions are welcome.
• Opportunities to earn royalties through the IAP Select collection (ePUB format required for eligibility).
Eligibility Requirements:
• Indie-published
• In an adult fiction or young adult fiction genre
• Written by a Minnesota resident
• Available in either ePUB (strongly encouraged) or PDF file
