Due to COVID-19 concerns, Minnesota Northwoods Writers Conference has moved from the northwoods to an online format. The conference offers weeklong workshops, faculty craft conversations and readings, a participant reading, editor’s talk/Q&A, yoga for writers, and more. Scott Russell Sanders will lead our fiction workshop. We’re offering two poetry workshops led by Elizabeth Bradfield and Brenda Shaughnessy. And we’re offering two creative nonfiction workshops led by Alison Hawthorne Deming and Meera Subramanian. This year’s distinguished visiting writer is Robin Wall Kimmerer.

The conference will run from Monday, June 22, through Saturday, June 27. To put folks in the same room as much as possible, we will use Zoom, the video conferencing platform, for all events. And Google Classroom (a digital learning management system) will be used to manage workshop materials and submissions.

The conference fee has been reduced to $465 for workshop participants. The auditor track is available for only $80 and includes all conference activities except for workshop participation. For members of the Loft, we’re offering an additional 15% discount lowering the conference fee to $395.

There are limited seats available in some workshops. Take advantage of this opportunity to workshop safely from home with Scott Russell Sanders or one of the other nature/eco/environmentally-focused writers who are the faculty of the Virtual Minnesota Northwoods Writers Conference 2020.
