March 26, 2021

The Minnesota Northwoods Writers Conference is accepting applications and registration. The conference will be held online again this year due to continued COVID-19 concerns.

The conference offers weeklong workshops, Faculty Craft Conversations and Readings, a Participant Reading, Editor’s Talk/Q&A, Yoga for Writers, and more. We’re offering two poetry workshops led by Jennifer Elise Foerster and John Murillo. And we’re offering two creative non-fiction workshops led by Faith Adiele and J. Drew Lanham. Our fiction workshop will be led by Danielle Evans. This year’s Distinguished Visiting Writer is the poet Nikky Finney winner of the National Book Award.

The conference will run from Monday, June 21 through Saturday, June 26. To put folks in the same room as much as possible, we’ll Zoom for all events, and a digital Learning Management System will be used to manage workshop materials and submissions.

The conference fee for workshop participants is $500 but increases to $575 after April 1. The Auditor Track is available for only $100 and includes all conference activities except for workshop participation. We’re offering a $50 discount to members of the Loft.

There are limited seats available in some workshops. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mathew Hawthorne, Conference Coordinator, at [email protected].
