My story, "Not What He Signed Up For," is now online in Vol. 17 of Verdad. An American consular officer in Okinawa refuses to issue a visa to a local woman. Her American GI boyfriend is angered and threatens the consul with harm if he does not reverse his decision. It is not always easy to do the right thing.
