Source Song Festival invites you to a free event exploring the innovative world where poem and song unite. How do composers choose poetry to set to music? When do they commission new poems? What's it like to write a poem for music? Panelists include poets Michael Dennis Browne and Joyce Sutphen, and composers Carol Barnett and Liam Moore. Wednesday, August 7, 2019, 3-5 PM, at Westminster Hall, 1200 South Marquette Avenue. Parking in the underground garage. Reception to follow. Source Song's week-long festival focuses on the poetry of song, in celebration of Walt Whitman's bicentennial. Check out our calendar at for all events.
