Andrea Davis Pinkney
Andrea Davis Pinkney is the New York Times bestselling and award-winning author of numerous books for young readers. Her work has garnered multiple Coretta Scott King Book Awards, among other citations. She is a four-time NAACP Image Award nominee, and recipient of both the Regina Medal and the Arbuthnot Honor Award for her singular body of work and distinguished contribution to the field of children’s literature. In addition to her work as an author, Andrea is currently Vice President, Executive Editor at Scholastic.
Ms. Pinkney is among Children’s Health Magazine’s “25 Most Influential People in Our Children’s Lives” and was named one of the “25 Most Influential Black Women in Business” by The Network Journal. She is a contributor to The New York Times, The Huffington Post, Essence magazine, and The Horn Book, and is the host of KidLit TV’s “The Big Picture Live.”
She is included in the “50 Over 50 Extraordinary Women” noted by Good Housekeeping and Woman’s Day magazines.
