Jared Sayet

Jared is a fiction writer and creative writing instructor who has taught workshops in a range of formats, including one-on-one mentorship, one-day generative classes, and multi-week intensive workshops. Most recently, he created and led a five-week fiction workshop through the University of Pennsylvania focused on serious draft development, collaborative peer critique, and craft-based revision.

Jared is a born-and-raised New Yorker and longtime Los Angeles resident, currently at work on a collection of stories set across the 150-year history of a fictional Colorado mountain town, from its frontier beginnings through mining booms and ghost-town decline to its modern reinvention as a luxury ski resort. Stories from the collection have appeared in North American Review, Booth, and Chiron Review, received two Pushcart Prize nominations in 2025, and earned Jared admission to the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, the Iowa Summer Writers’ Workshop, the One Story Writers’ Conference, and the Kenyon Review Fiction Workshop.
