Remembering Mary Gardner
My wish for every member of the Loft’s writing community is that you find your own Mary Gardner, a friend and a mentor who inspires you to do your best, to persist when the work gets hard, and that, in turn, we all become that person for another writer who needs the support as much as we once did.

Major support for Loft activities is provided by Friends of the Loft, Amazon.com, Patrick and Aimee Butler Family Foundation, William Randolph Hearst Foundation, Jerome Foundation, McKnight Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, and the voters of Minnesota, through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT

The Loft recognizes the original peoples of this place and affirms tribal sovereignty. We acknowledge that the state of Minnesota, the Loft and Open Book exist on the unceded homelands of the Dakota people.
