Kate Meadows

Kate Meadows grew up in Wyoming and attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN. She earned her MFA in Professional Writing from Western Connecticut State University, with concentrations in creative nonfiction and journalism. Her work has appeared in Writer’s Digest, Writer’s Market, River Teeth, Chicken Soup for the Soul and Kansas City Parent, among other publications. She is a contributor to two anthologies published by Books by Hippocampus, a division of Hippocampus Magazine. Her first book, Tough Love: A Wyoming Childhood, was published by Wyoming’s Pronghorn Press in 2012. She leads writing retreats and workshops on a variety of craft and creative nonfiction topics, for both adults and children. Most recently, she has focused on literary citizenship and the urgency to connect writing to community. Her family recently moved to Rapid City from St. Louis – a wild uprooting from the city for a quieter, more nature-filled life.
