Lynne Jonell

Lynne Jonell is the author of seventeen critically acclaimed books for children, from picture books to novels for ages 8-12. Her novels include Emmy and the Incredible Shrinking Rat, winner of the Minnesota Book Award; The Secret of Zoom, bought by President Obama for his daughters; and The Sign of the Cat, a VOYA best fantasy book of the year. Her newest novel, Time Sight, is a historical time-travel set at Castle Menzies in Scotland, the castle of her grandfather’s clan. Recipient of grants from the McKnight Foundation and the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators, she was also awarded a Hawthornden Castle Fellowship.  Her essays have appeared in various publications including School Library Journal and Publishers Weekly, and her webcomic on the writing life, “Page Break”, appears in Bookology magazine. She lives in Plymouth, Minnesota, with her husband.
