Nissa Valdez

Nissa Valdez was introduced to haiku in second grade. As an adult, she rediscovered haiku and has now kept a daily haiku practice for over four years. She loves the playfulness of tapping out syllables and discovering ways to share her encounters with nature while staying true to the form. Even though a haiku is small, she has discovered it to be a safe space for big feelings. Merging her photography with her haiku is one of her favorite things.
