Ruth Joffre
Ruth Joffre is the author of the story collection Night Beast. Her work has been shortlisted for the Creative Capital Awards, longlisted for The Story Prize, and supported by residencies at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Lighthouse Works, and The Arctic Circle. Her writing has appeared or is forthcoming in more than 100 publications, including Lightspeed, Pleiades, TriQuarterly, khōréō, The Florida Review Online, Kenyon Review, Reckoning, Wigleaf, and the anthologies Best Small Fictions and Best Microfiction.
Ruth has more than ten years of experience in teaching and curriculum design. She has been a Visiting Writer in the MFA programs at George Mason University and the University of Washington - Bothell and has taught writing courses at Hugo House, StoryStudio, and Corporeal Writing. Over the past decade, she has designed a wide variety of courses ranging from one-day introductory courses to yearlong workshops. Her areas of expertise include speculative fiction, the short story, flash fiction, and publishing.
