Sarah Chandler

Sarah Chandler is a globe-trekking writer and journalist. She received her MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Texas at Austin, where she was a fellow at the Michener Center for Writers. She has taught creative writing and English literature at Amsterdam University College, Loyola University Chicago, Bilgi University in Istanbul, Johns Hopkins University, and the University of Texas at Austin, and been a visiting lecturer at the Emerson College European Center.

Her work has appeared in print and online publications such as BBC Travel, Salon, the Star Tribune, Michigan Quarterly Review, and Hayden's Ferry Review. She is the author of several children's books, and has co-authored multiple Lonely Planet travel titles.

Her writing has received awards and fellowships from South By Southwest, the Paramount Pictures/Chesterfield Foundation, the Associated Writing Programs (AWP) Awards, the Institute for Humane Studies, the Bucknell Seminar for Younger Poets, and La Muse. See www.sarahchandler.us.
