Suri Parmar

Suri Parmar is a Toronto-based screenwriter, filmmaker, and writer who currently teaches screenwriting at an undergraduate level at Ryerson University. An alumna of the Stonecoast MFA Program in Creative Writing, she was also selected for prestigious international residencies that include the Reykjavík Talent Lab and the Canadian Film Centre, where her guest mentors and lecturers included Olivier Assayas, John Patrick Shanley, and Guillermo del Toro. Her short films have screened at film festivals around the world, and her fiction has appeared in New Haven Review and Crannóg magazine. She is currently shooting a provincial grant-funded experimental short and has a fantasy feature film in development.
